Our work is meaningful, our pipeline is active, and our team is built on experienced professionals who understand the importance of what we do.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Director of Marketing and Proposals to lead our pursuit strategy, proposal operations, and marketing function. This is a senior leadership role with a seat at the strategy table, not just an execution seat. You will work directly with executive leadership on go/no-go decisions, capture planning, and growth strategy while leading a team of 2-3 marketing and proposal professionals.The right candidate brings both strategic vision and hands-on execution capability and is energized by winning complex government contracts and building the systems that make BD functions more effective.What You Will DoLead Federal, State, and Local pursuit strategy across disaster response, debris removal, and utility management service lines from opportunity identification through award.Direct a team of 2-3 proposal and marketing professionals, providing mentorship, workload management, and professional development.Drive go/no-go decision-making, capture planning, win strategy development, storyboarding, and color team reviews for all active pursuits.Manage the full proposal lifecycle, including RFP analysis, compliance matrix development, proposal writing and editing, and final production.Oversee marketing operations, including brand management, conference planning and execution, social media presence, and internal and external communications.Build and maintain a scalable content library, past performance database, and knowledge management system in SharePoint.Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, business development, and the proposal team to ensure strategic alignment across all pursuits.Champion AI tool adoption and workflow innovation to improve team efficiency, accuracy, and output quality.Serve as designated internal and external communications lead, including executive announcements, PR content, and company-wide communications.Contribute to annual and long-term strategic planning alongside executive leadership.What You Bring8+ years of progressive experience in proposal management, marketing, or BD leadership in AEC, GovCon, or disaster response environments.Demonstrated experience leading Federal, State, and Local government pursuits across infrastructure, emergency management, or disaster response sectors. Familiarity with agencies such as USACE, state emergency management organizations, and municipal clients is preferred.Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of proposal and marketing professionals in a deadline-driven environment.Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling, client-focused narratives.Experience with go/no-go decision frameworks, capture planning, win strategy development, and color team reviews.Proficiency with HubSpot CRM, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.Disaster response, emergency management, or utility management sector experience strongly preferred.Preferred QualificationsAPMP Foundation certification or SMPS CPSM certification preferred.Experience with GovWin IQ or similar opportunity identification platforms.Familiarity with government disaster recovery procurement processes at the Federal, State, and Local level.What We OfferCompetitive compensation commensurate with experience and comprehensive benefits.A high-impact role with direct access to executive leadership and real influence over company growth strategy.A collaborative team of experienced professionals in a mission-driven industry.Greenville, SC preferred; remote considered for the right candidate.
