About MLTTMajor League Table Tennis is the only professional table tennis league in the United States. Our season runs September through April, 16 match weekends across 10 markets, every match streamed live, and we rate every player in the world through our SPINDEX rating system. We are a startup backed by a founder who believes table tennis can become a mainstream American sport, and we are building the audience, the fandom, and the community to prove it.This is a builder role. There is no playbook. There is no large team. There is an opportunity to build something from scratch that matters. What This Role IsThis is not a social media scheduler. This is a community architect who happens to run our social handles. You will own the full marketing funnel from first impression to loyal fan. That means managing our social channels and being in the comments and DMs daily, but it also means thinking about membership, sign-ups, belonging, and what it actually feels like to be part of the MLTT community. You will know our audience better than anyone in the organization and you will use that knowledge to shape what we put out and how we talk to people. You will work closely with the Head of Content on what stories to tell and where to tell them. You will be the voice of the community back into the organization, telling us what our fans need more of, what is landing, and what is not. What You Will OwnDay-to-day management of all MLTT social handles across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Facebook.Community engagement, comments, DMs, fan interactions, every day, not occasionally.Content scheduling, publishing, and platform-native formatting.Social listening and audience intelligence: who is following us, what they care about, what content is driving real engagement versus passive views.Collaboration with the Head of Content on the weekly content calendar and storytelling priorities.Coordination with our digital marketing manager on paid social amplification.Support for live match weekends: real-time posting, clipping, and in-the-moment community engagement.Membership and audience growth: thinking beyond followers to fans who show up, buy tickets, subscribe, and bring friends.Ability to edit videos, pictures, and some ability with graphic design is preferred. As you ideate content and bring it to life, that means producing it yourself, whether it’s short-form videos, or light static graphics/imagery.Who You AreYou are on your first or second job. You have built or managed a social community for a brand, league, team, or media company and you have the numbers to show for it. You have personally written the copy, hit publish, responded to comments, and tracked what happened, not directed someone else to do it.You understand that community is not content output. You know the difference between an audience and a community and you know how to build the latter. You are platform-native. You know how TikTok distributes content right now, not six months ago. You know what Instagram rewards this week. You have opinions about YouTube Shorts versus long-form and you can back them up with results. You think about the full funnel. You understand that a follower who never buys a ticket or subscribes is a vanity metric. You connect your work to real business outcomes. You are a sports fan or at minimum someone who gets why people become obsessed with athletes and teams. You do not need to know table tennis. You need to understand fandom. You are comfortable working lean. There is no agency doing the heavy lifting. There is no team of coordinators. There is you, a content head, a digital marketing manager, and a part-time video editor. If something needs to get done, you figure out how to get it done.
