SUMMARY The VP of Marcom is responsible for developing and executing CEDIA's global Marcom strategy to strengthen the association's brand, grow membership & participation, increase engagement across all audiences, and reinforce CEDIA's position as the leading authority in the home tech industry. This person oversees Marcom areas including brand strategy, digital marketing & analytics, media relations, and creative service to support the org's strategic priorities. The VP will lead a high-performing marketing team and use data-driven insights to optimize performance, maximize ROI, and continuously improve member acquisition, retention, and engagement. WHAT YOU’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: The VP of Marcom is accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive global marketing and communications strategy in partnership with department and program leads to CEDIA's mission, to increase membership growth, product and service engagement, and overall brand awareness. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & MANAGERIAL OVERSIGHT: Other duties may apply Strategic Marketing Leadership Develop and execute CEDIA's global marketing strategy in alignment with organizational goals. Lead integrated marketing initiatives that increase awareness, engagement, membership growth, event participation, and product adoption. Develop annual marketing plans, budgets, and measurable performance objectives. Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and ELT on marketing strategy, audience trends, and brand positioning. Partner closely with executive leadership and department leaders to ensure marketing strategies support organizational priorities and business objectives. Provide strategic direction and oversight for external marketing partners, agencies, consultants, and vendors to ensure alignment with CEDIA's brand, marketing objectives, and performance expectations. Brand Strategy & Marketing Own and evolve CEDIA's global brand strategy, ensuring consistency, differentiation, and relevance across all channels and customer touchpoints. Develop campaigns that communicate CEDIA's value prop to members, consumers, and industry stakeholders. Oversee marketing strategies that optimize the member journey from awareness and acquisition through engagement, retention, and advocacy. Oversee content strategy, campaign planning, product marketing, and promotional activities. Member Insights & Market Engagement Establish and lead a comprehensive member listening strategy to better understand member needs, preferences, challenges, and emerging industry trends. Conduct focus groups, surveys, advisory discussions, and/or other research initiatives with industry professionals to gather actionable insights that inform marketing strategies, products, services, and organizational priorities. Translate member and market feedback into data-driven recommendations that enhance CEDIA's value proposition and member experience. Foster strong relationships with members and industry stakeholders to ensure marketing efforts remain relevant, responsive, and member-centric. Digital Marketing & Analytics Oversee CEDIA’s digital marketing efforts, including website strategy, SEO, SEM, email marketing, paid media, social media, and marketing automation. Lead the organization's adoption and strategic application of AI within marketing and communications, incorporating AEO and GEO best practices to maximize content visibility and engagement. Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure campaign effectiveness, member engagement, conversion rates, and return on marketing investment. Use analytics and market research to optimize marketing performance and identify new opportunities. Oversee the performance of external digital marketing agencies and partners, ensuring campaigns, website initiatives, SEO, analytics, and other digital programs achieve established goals and maximize return on investment. Communication Provide strategic oversight of internal and external communications to ensure alignment with CEDIA's brand and marketing strategy. Oversee CEDIA's podcast strategy and production, ensuring content supports thought leadership, member engagement, and organizational objectives. Guide public relations, executive communications, media relations, and thought leadership through the Communications team. Ensure consistent messaging across marketing, communications, public relations, and member engagement efforts. Creative Services Provide leadership and direction for creative strategy, visual identity, graphic design, video production, and multimedia assets. Ensure all creative work reflects CEDIA's brand standards and supports organizational goals. Leadership Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing organization that values creativity, accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Foster a culture of transparency, open communication, and continuous feedback by providing regular coaching, addressing performance constructively, and supporting the professional growth and development of team members. Build strong partnerships with executive leadership and department leaders to understand business priorities and develop integrated marketing strategies that advance organizational goals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, media partners, and strategic vendors, establishing clear expectations, measuring performance, and ensuring effective use of organizational resources. Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize, and execute integrated marketing strategies that support organizational growth, member engagement, and revenue objectives. Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market trends, member insights, and organizational priorities into strategic marketing initiatives. Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Strong listening, influencing, and persuasive communication skills. Strong networking and relationship management abilities. Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, marketing automation, CRM, SEO/SEM, CMS platforms, analytics, and marketing performance measurement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and other modern marketing technologies. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility 7+ years of leadership experience with the ability to motivate and support teams through successful collaboration. Experience in an association, nonprofit, technology, or B2B membership organization is preferred. Experience with Monday.com a plus Travel—The position will require 20% to 30% travel, including one or more international trips per year and two team building off-site events annually and international travel. Supervisory responsibilities (subject to change) Oversees a team of 7 staff members (currently 2 direct reports and 5 indirect reports)
