Founding Marketing DirectorEnterprise AI | Chicago hybrid or New York remote-first $200,000–$225,000 base, meaningful equityA well-backed, early-stage enterprise AI business is hiring its first dedicated marketing leader.The company is building software for organisations operating in complex, highly regulated environments. Its platform helps senior legal, risk, compliance and operational teams understand changing external requirements, assess business impact and take action with greater speed and confidence.With an experienced leadership team, a growing sales function and early enterprise traction, the business is now looking for someone to take ownership of how it shows up in the market and how marketing contributes to commercial growth.This is a genuine founding marketing role. You will not be joining a large existing function or inheriting a settled playbook. You will shape the narrative, build market presence and create the marketing motions that help the sales team generate stronger enterprise pipeline.The roleYou will lead marketing across brand, positioning, product marketing and pipeline creation.Day to day, this will include:Defining clear, credible messaging for a complex enterprise platformBuilding a distinctive brand and strengthening the company’s industry presenceWorking closely with founders, product and sales to refine the ICP, buyer narrative and commercial storyCreating strategic campaigns that help open conversations with priority enterprise accountsDeveloping thought leadership, research, events, webinars and executive-level activityTurning customer insight, market developments and product releases into reasons for buyers to engageSupporting partnership activity and broader routes to marketOwning a pipeline target focused on qualified enterprise opportunitiesEstablishing the first marketing priorities, processes and operating rhythm as the business scalesWhat we are looking forYou are likely a Director of Marketing, Head of Marketing, Head of Product Marketing or senior growth leader from a B2B enterprise software business.You will bring:Around 7–10 years of B2B marketing experienceA track record of building or materially shaping marketing within a high-growth scale-upStrong enterprise positioning and messaging capabilityExperience creating qualified pipeline through campaigns, account-led activity, industry programmes, content, events or partnershipsComfort working hands-on, directly with founders and sales leadershipStrong commercial judgment around how sophisticated buyers assess new technologyGenuine familiarity with AI and the ability to explain its practical value without relying on hypeExposure to complex or regulated markets such as financial services, legal, risk, compliance, insurance, audit, healthcare, identity or securityDirect experience in this exact category is not required.
