How have UK marketing job adverts changed?

Which marketing jobs ask for AI skills, and do they offer better pay? We compare UK job adverts for similar roles, using salary figures employers actually publish.

59 currently open UK adverts among 3727 open worldwide. 4783 adverts retained worldwide, including closed jobs. Updated October 26, 2026. Our UK sample is small and not representative of all UK employers.

What the historical backfill adds

118 UK adverts remain in our database: 59 currently open and 59 closed. Across all countries, we have retained 4783 adverts (3727 open and 1056 closed).

Across these retained UK adverts, 0 of 0 jobs with a clear classification explicitly require AI skills (unavailable). This includes closed roles and should not be mistaken for today's hiring figures below.

The completed Jev backfill classified adverts already in the database; it did not collect more UK employers or recreate earlier wording lost before we began keeping versions.

UK job adverts we've collected, by quarter

These figures include adverts that have closed. Each job appears in the quarter when we first collected it, not necessarily when it was published. Small quarters are shown for transparency, not as evidence of a market trend.

This tracks our collection, not the whole UK job market. Companies may have changed adverts before we saved their wording, and our sources have changed over time. Differences between these quarters do not prove that AI requirements increased.

Who gets the time AI saves?

Some employers may expect staff to do more work as AI tools improve. Other employers may give staff more room to save time, train colleagues or build new skills. Workers who own part of a business may share more directly in its gains. These are questions we want to test, not facts proved by job adverts.

How we checked

We include jobs clearly based in the UK. A job advertised worldwide does not count as a UK job. We read descriptions with the marketing-job-v4 version of our AI checker. We only count an AI requirement when the checker is confident. For pay comparisons, we compare jobs of the same type and seniority. Each side needs at least five adverts from three employers.

We count ten named job responsibilities, but only when enough details are available. Pay figures come from published annual salaries in pounds. Many employers in our sample work in technology. Adverts cannot tell us how many hours people worked, what they were paid, whether AI caused job losses, or whether employees gained shares.
