The RoleWe're partnering with one of our clients to hire a Senior Director of Marketing. This role will be focused on building and leading the marketing function from the ground up, reporting directly to the CEO of this real-time data infrastructure company. You'll set strategy and brand direction for the company while staying hands-on with the campaigns and content that need senior-level judgment. You'll manage a small team — directing their priorities while personally driving the initiatives that matter most.This role suits someone who has led marketing at a growing technical company, is comfortable without a large team beneath them, and moves easily between strategy and execution.What You'll DoOwn marketing strategy and brand positioning, aligned to company-wide revenue and growth goalsDefine messaging for a technical, developer-and-enterprise audience, and represent the brand voice in external materials like the website, sales enablement, and thought leadershipPersonally lead high-priority campaigns, content, and launches that require senior ownershipSet direction and priorities for the events contractor and Marketing Operations team member, coaching them on strategy while they handle executionPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align launches and messaging with the roadmapServe as the senior marketing voice in leadership conversations with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Finance/RevOpsOwn the marketing budget, vendor relationships, and team KPIs, and build out process as the function maturesWhat We're Looking For8+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or above) at a B2B or technical companyProven ability to operate as both a strategic leader and an individual contributor — comfortable being hands-on when neededExperience managing marketing operations, campaigns, and/or events, either directly or through a small teamStrong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into compelling narrativesExperience partnering closely with executive leadership (CEO, CTO, or equivalent)Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment where you're building process as you goDemand generation experience, with a track record of building or running campaigns that drive pipelineFamiliarity with the data infrastructure, streaming, or open-source developer tools space is a strong plusNice to HaveExperience marketing to both developer and enterprise buyer audiencesBackground in product marketing or brand strategyExperience scaling a marketing team from a small baseWhy Join UsThis is a rare opportunity to shape a marketing function from an early stage, with direct access to the CEO and a real seat at the leadership table.
